Abstract

Juan Carlos I is a figure with a minor and secondary role in the historical fiction of our country. Probably the project that paid the most attention to portraying his life was the miniseries El Rey, a three-episode biopic released in 2014. The purpose of this article is to delve into the image projected on Juan Carlos I in Spanish fiction and, specifically, in that biopic, paying special attention to the image transmitted about the man, his time and the partners in his vital experience.
