Picasso in the Fauvist years
Abstract
Picasso was working in Paris during the Fauvism period. This paper asks why played no part in the movement, in spite of his acquaintance with Henri Matisse. However, one Picasso painting, Els segadors (The harvesters, 1907) has been regarded as fauvist. This work, which can be considered a unicum, was probably the result of the artist’s political experiences in Catalonia.Downloads
