L'assimilació dels historicismes en l'arquitectura domèstica del segle XIX. De la dependència formal a la consecució d'un estil propi
Abstract
In this article, we analyse the influence of different revivalist styles on domestic architecture during the nineteenth century, looking at different European capitals. Thus, we can see how the influence of historical styles (so important in official and representative architecture) is reduced to the limited use of some concrete stylistic elements, without amounting to complete reproductions of whole historical buildings. Parallel to this, we notice a process of formal separation process between both architectural categories which, in the case of domestic architecture, will lead to the gestation of the artistic language of Art Nouveau (an individual style of private architecture which in this way frees itself from the models imposed by official architecture).Downloads
