(4) La (no)naturaleza del cuerpo - la muerte

Abstract

The aim of this essay is to consider the body as a political, technical and imaginary construction, highlighting its artificial condition in contrast the more common physiological consideration. Therefore, I will base my work on this particular psychoanalytical point of view which analyses the body not from its affirmation and positiveness but from its loss and negativeness. In connection with this, I will also stress the problem of the drive of death. In this context, the artistic body appears as the signifier which constantly reveals the tensions and fissures of a system of power turned into a sphere of representation by its symbolic operations. From the sixties on, in art, the body has showed its wound, its constitutive fracture and deformation, and become paralysed on the aporia that it is destroyed but also sublimated, simultaneously, by the same violence.
