Una personalitat artística per a Llorenç Reixac
Abstract
Considering that there is no documentation about Llorenç Reixac in Barcelona in several moments of 1408-1420 and 1439-1447 periods; his presence, indirectly documented by Matamoros, in the construction of the cathedral of Tortosa; and his obvious documentary relation with the bishop Francesc Climent Sapera, who was closely related to Pope Benedict XIII and to the construction of the aforementioned cathedral, here Pope Luna’s baptismal font and part of the decorative carving of this building’s apse are attributed to Reixac. In the same way, the stylistic connection between these works and part of the usually attributed to bishop Sapera’s Master are pointed out, which can mean a starting point to discern the artistic personality of Llorenç Reixac.Downloads
