Una traça inèdita de Pere Costa per a Santa Coloma de Queralt

Abstract

This study presents an unknown of drawing by Pere Costa, now kept in a private collection. It represents a project for an altarpiece for the main altar in Santa Coloma de Queralt parish church (Conca de Barberà, Tarragona), as indicated by the autographic inscription at its base. The structural, iconographic and heraldic analysis of the simulated altarpiece allows us to date its creation arround 1745. It is accompanied by typologic reflections based on the space and the cultural needs that the piece of work was supposed to meet, should it have ever been built.
