El aporte de la ética del cuidado al debate ético contemporáneo entre imparcialistas y parcialistas

Contemporary moral philosophy has accused “impartiality” of being overly demanding, repressor of differences, psychologically untenable, unworkable, etc. Since during the last few years moral theory has paid attention to friendship and love relationships, relations in which clearly one is prioritized instead of others, a moral conception opposing this kind of relationships does not seem acceptable. As a consequence, bibliography questioning impartial moral theories has expanded its scope, causing an opposition between impartialists (kantians and consequentialists) and the partialists (ethics of care). This paper shows the main contributions of the ethics of care to this debate.Downloads
