Keywords:
Armed conflict, illegal armed groups, victims, Colombian law concerning victims, human rightsAbstract
The dynamics of the Colombian internal armed conflict has left more than 7 million victims during the period 1985 to 2015. Under such conditions, the Colombian State has designed institutional strategies such as its Unit Victims and Land Restitution, which was only belatedly implemented from 2012 on thanks to Law 1448 of 2011. Thus, this article seeks to produce a historical characterization of the victims of armed conflict to understand the institutional challenges that the Colombian state must confront in order to provide full reparation for the victims of a conflict which has extended now for 50 years.
