This document raises the question of how China, which has a socialist system, adopts neoliberalism to insert itself into globalization, something for which it acquires a series of guidelines for the management of the economy. This, evidently, brought with it the evils of capitalism, which become manifest in the way and quality of life of its population. We carry out a recount of some of the social conflicts that have attracted the most attention in recent times. In addition, different case-studies are analyzed. Firstly, we deal with the movements that arise as a consequence of environmental damage and deterioration; secondly, with those caused by the precariousness of work as a way of attracting investment in a model of economic openness to it and, thirdly, with the specific case of Falun Gong, a spiritual and physical movement that has gained international relevance in a context of strong repression with an unprecedented opening to the world and expansion of Chinese culture.
