This article is the continuation of the work carried out for our 2018 Yearbook. In the context of the conflict between the Chilean State and the Mapuche people, it analyses the actions taken in 2019 by the Mapuche in the Chilean institutional sphere. To do so, we analyse the performed actions, statements and participation of Mapuche organizations and population through several institutional channels. Although year 2019 is inevitably linked to the social outbreak taking place in October, institutional participation goes well beyond this critical event. This article is structured in three sections. First, we shall briefly update the contents in our previous writing “Participation and Mapuche Institutional Politics in 2018”. Then, we shall deal with the failed Indigenous Plebiscite promoted by the government. Finally, we shall analyse the role played by the institutional sphere after October 2019.
