«Lost». The consular search for the whereabouts as a source for studying Spanish immigration in Mexico during the first half of the Twentieth Century
Keywords:
Immigrants, Whereabouts, Revolution, Spain, MexicoAbstract
During the Great Migration to the American continent, Spanish immigrants sometimes lost contact with their relatives who remained in the homeland. In this essay, we try to understand the reason of these disappearances in migration processes. Consulates started an investigation with many different steps and informed the relatives of the result of the enquiries. We consider the immigrants who lived in Mexico and the resources come from diplomatic archives, especially the collection of documents of the Spanish Consulate in MexicoReferences
