Spanish agriculture mechanization: from foreign dependence to domestic machinery producción (1862-1932)
Abstract
This paper studies, from the supply side, the mechanization process of Spanish agriculture, and more specifically the mechanization of threshing, from 1862 to 1932. In the first part, we explain when it began and how it developed and we offer the results if the process at the beginning of the 1890's. After that, we study the case of Ajuria S.A., from Vitoria, a family business that controlled the thresher Spanish market since the end of 1920Js, throwing foreign competitors 08 and drived the mechanization of threshing over the whole country.
