Spanish Industrial Wages (1908-1963): a New Quantitative Evidence

This paper offers a critical analysis of the Sapnish wage statistic between 1908 and 1963, contributing new auantitative evidence for the decades after the Civil War. Secondly, this article analyses the wage evolution in Spanish industry from a perspective of long term. From this new evidence, the effects that the outcome fo the Civil War had on the Spanish wage tendencies have been estimated. Finally, to be able to analyze to what extent the Civil War supposed a deviation of the wage guidelines followed by other countries, an analysis of the Spanish wages within an European comparative frame was made.Downloads
