Statistical sources on the Spanish housing: an obstacle for the housing political design

Abstract

It is unquestionable the value of the housing as an irreplaceable lodging and also as economic asset. In fact, housing is one the most important elements of the moderns societies development. However there is a shortage of statistics sources and some difficulties to establish statistics and juridical definitions about the own concept of housing. There is only a Population and Housing Census taken each ten year. Due to the last census was taken in 2001 nowadays it is no able to know exactly the characteristics of the Spanish residential park home. Because of this census made equal housing and homes, we neither know this last question. The main object of this paper is to value the situation of Spanish housing statistics and make some proposal to advance in the knowledge and in the development of the housing policy.
