Theories and Practices of immigration. From the explanatory models to the migratory stories and projects

Abstract

The objective of this communication is to draw a panoramic about the theoretical and methodologic reorientation in migratory studies; basically the substitution of the classic economic analysis by new paradigms that give account in greater measurement of the complexity that has acquired the migratory phenomenon. We try to illustrate and to confront some of these tendencies with different immigrants trajectories installed in Spain. We used for it diverse migratory stories that gather conditioners and the plot of factors at time of making the decision to leave the origin country, the contacts and supports received at time of emigrating, as well as the fulfillment or breach of expectations bound to the diverse projects.
