Abstract

One of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic was education, with the suspension of in-person classes in March 2020 in both public and private schools in Brazil, following health guidelines. In this context, schools adopted emergency remote teaching, delivering lessons through digital platforms, applications, and programs. Remote teaching presented challenges regarding the presence of infrastructure to meet this need, such as internet access, networks, equipment (cell phones, laptops, tablets, computers), and updated software; and challenges regarding teachers' performance in using digital technologies in the learning process. The main objective of this text is to analyse these challenges with the aim of contribute to ensuring that the use of technologies in digital educational environments continues after the pandemic and is not limited to remote teaching.
