Abstract

El sexe és un tema que a tothom li crida l'atenció, però més enllà del que la gent sol tenir en ment s'amaga un món fascinant en que el sexe és protagonista. En aquest article posarem el sexe sota el microscopi i analitzarem cadascuna de les seves facetes, enfocant-nos en l'ésser humà però sense oblidar que el sexe es troba present en multitud d'organismes i que pot adoptar moltes formes diferents. Intentarem donar resposta a preguntes relacionades amb la sexualitat humana com per a què serveix el sexe?, per què existeixen homes i dones?, què defineix l'orientació sexual?, quins avantatges presenta el sexe respecte a la reproducció asexual?...I finalitzarem amb una entrevista a un dels autors del llibre “Per a què serveix el sexe?” de Publicacions UB, en la que veurem que la reproducció sexual va molt més allà de la simple còpula que coneixem, doncs adopta multitud d'estratègies al món animal.
