The Nic projector: the animation toy that participated in the democratization of the cinematographic language

The socialization of the structural elements of the audiovisual language dates its efforts in the socalled optical toys. The Nic film projector, as a toy, allowed experimentation with it, favoring creativity and becoming an instrument with great national and international repercussion. Through the application of content analysis to about thirty film reels, we have tried to delimit which narrative elements are present and what function they play. In order to verify the existence of a link between this toy and cinema, more specifically, animation cinema. Finally, it will be verified if its use in education and entertainment has served as a way for the diffusion of a new code system at the time.
