The promotion of reading at public libraries in Catalonia (2020-2021)

During 2020-2021, public libraries in Catalonia had to deal with one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century: the COVID-19 pandemic. Lockdown forced libraries to adapt their services and programs to the new situation, moving from face-to-face to virtual environments. This paper brings together a selection of activities, projects and services implemented in Catalan public libraries, mainly in the area of the promotion of reading. Professional conferences and meetings, awards, research studies, and the main publications that have comoe out during this two-year period are also included.
