During the years 2020 and 2021, the promotion of easy reading was profoundly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Face-to-face book clubs had to be suspended and incorporated in the virtual environments of public libraries, which continue to be a key element in this country for promoting inclusion. Easy-to-read clubs are very active in Spain, and especially in Catalonia, where around half of these clubs are based. Despite the halt in activity brought about by the pandemic, the Easy Reading Network is becoming consolidated thanks to the creation of new regional entities. Editorial production was also suspended or at least slowed down by the pandemic. Government authorities continue to make progress in offering resources for people with reading difficulties, but a great deal remains to be done.
