The Covid-19 pandemic has not stopped research in the field of publishing and reading habits in Catalonia, which has continued the positive evolution of previous years. In the last two years, the statistics that are regularly prepared or commissioned by government bodies and agents in the sector have tried to reflect the effects of the pandemic on the reading habits of the Catalan population and also on the economic health of the sector. The rapid adaptation to the virtual environment of many of the activities carried out throughout 2020 is especially notable; in 2021, this process led to the adoption of new hybrid models. As in previous editions of this Yearbook, these studies have had an important impact by helping both public and private actors to make informed decisions.
