The spanish iron market. The case of San Pedro de Araya, 1867-1925

The aim of this paper is to contribute to the study of the Spanish iron market during the second half of 19th century and the first third of 20th century. For this purpose we analyse the commercial structure of the factory of San Pedro de Araya. Using invoices copies and letter books, the work shows the changes in the geographical distribution of San Pedro's sales from 1867 to 1925. Moreover, the article analyses the nature of customers, showing the important role played by iron merchants in the iron commercialization during this period.
