Abstract

This work shows the meticulous documents that were elaborated by the Spanish Provincial Public Works Offices during the last few decades of the 19th century and the first few years of the 2oth century. The objective of the paper is the revaluation of a source (the books of water records), which is essential to research into some important topics, such as energy resources or hydraulic matters.
