In this paper we establish some connections between terms (and the practices of) eugenics, genetics and bioethics. These words are introduced according to the chronological order in which they were presented, showing how they relate to each other. Subsequently we outline their current links, particularly around whether abortion based on genetic testing carries a kind of eugenics. Conclusions point out in what way such problems are to be thought by bioethics.
