Abstract

Some species of locust are able to reproduce so highly that they cover very large areas with their destroying swarms. One of the most harmful species is the Dociostaurus maroccanus, endemical in the Iberian Peninsula. One of its reproduction sites can be found in the Aragonese region called Los Monegros, place where the agronomist José Cruz Lapazarán carried out important works to fight against this insect in the first half of the XXth century, in order to have the pest under control.
