This paper revises the theses about demographic growth in Catalonia in the 18th century elaborated by Pierre Vilar, from the reconstruction of the evolution of the baptisms in 254 parishes of Catalonia who represent 46,2% of the total population. On the one hand the occultation of the counting of 1718 and 1787 is checked out and by the other, new datum about the growth of the population for regions and of Catalonia is brought.
