Estudio del campo de dispersión de las vocales castellanas
Abstract
The aim of this paper is the study of the distribution of the frequencies that are characteristic of the five Spanish vowels. For this purpose we synthesized several vowels and perception tests were carried out. We found that speakers' competence was higher in the field of perception (above all if they payed careful attention) than in production. We also found that the F1 and F2 stimulus with the highest identification rates had higher values than the ones that are usually found in acoustic studies.
