Dr. Jennifer Thewissen holds a PhD from the Centre for English Corpus Linguistics at UCLouvain, Belgium. She currently works as a lecturer in English language and linguistics at the University of Antwerp and Saint-Louis University, Belgium. She specialises in learner corpus research and second language acquisition. Her research interests include the development of L2 accuracy and complexity among learners of English as a foreign/second language as well as questions pertaining to foreign language education (academic literacy skills, motivation in SLA, rethinking traditional teaching practices).
