ACTA ARTIS publishes research on creative processes, artists and their works; on the dissemination, circulation and reception of the phenomenon of art in its historic, cultural, religious, anthropological, economic and social framework; and on the meanings intended, conveyed and assumed by works of art and architecture. It contains interdisciplinary research on the visual art of the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries, which describes the construction of meaning in images of any type or nature, without resorting to simplistic chronological or interpretive methods. It publishes studies that consider creative practices in relation to the environment in which they were produced, in order to understand the art, architecture and images of the modern era in all of their complexity
