Service Learning: an innovative pedagogical approach

Abstract

The dramatic speed of the changes experienced in all fields over the last century, has transformed the way we perceive the world and our lives. These changes also affected many traditional educational paradigms, which today might seem outdated, thus creating the need to reconsider them, both on a theoretical and practical level. Many valuable contributions have been made on this search of pedagogical innovation, providing multiple options to try and solve this problem. Service learning can be found among them, it allows us to simultaneously improve educational offer in all levels, and apply what is taught to the issue community needs
