This paper tackles Derrida’s relationship with cinema and his reflections on it from three different, though related, points of view: 1) his experience, since childhood, as a ‘non-expert’ viewer; 2) his ‘learning’ as an actor in front of the camera; and 3) his work and thoughts as a writer and philosopher.
