For Zambrano, cinema liberates the gaze and widens the horizon of dreams. In contrast to the philosophical gaze, there is in her “another gaze” that is born of poetry and that trembles before the delirium of life and its enigmatic images. Lashing out against the limits of language, Zambrano explores the si- lence and emptiness of the unspeakable that we experience in dreams and in cinema. Thus, poetic reason embodies the spirit of cinema and the dawn of a new gaze that saves the images reviled by Plato.
