During the 1960s, María Zambrano came into contact with the archaeologist Laurette Séjourné, and Zambrano returned to Mexico on a conceptual level. This return resulted in a profound reflection on the Nahuatl god Quetzalcoatl, which Zambrano incorporated into her thought as a symbol of the dawn. In this study, we will analyze how the myth of the Mexican god serves our philosopher to exemplify a transcendental operation that she will turn into a method of her poetic reason and that will be the center of all essential metaphorical action that the subject must carry out in her own transcendence.
