Through the letters sent between María Zambrano and José Lezama Lima, we seek to understand the hermetic terminology of Nicholas of Kues that our authors use to refer to both philosophical and literary creation. Starting from the hypothesis that the interest of both Zambrano and Lezama in Nicholas of Kues lies in the fact that he described an epistemological method to capture what remains invisible, the coincidence of opposites. In this article, the four main propositions of Nicholas of Kues are developed, relating them to Heraclitus to show how the Hermetic current influences the shared intellectual construction of Lezama and Zambrano.
