Abstract

We study Zambrano’s discourse in Isla de Puerto Rico and pay special attention to an enigmatic proposal: “to take the weight of one’s own life in hand ‘saying yes and no as Christ teaches us’”. This will lead us to the Sufism of Ibn ‘Arabī and finally to a letter that Zambrano wrote in the 1950s to Gabriela Mistral.
