This article retraces María Zambrano’s steps in her first Latin American exile, paying special attention to her stay in Puerto Rico and Cuba. After following the traces that these islands left in Zambrano, as well as those that she left in those islands, it goes further into zambranian conception of the island as place of exile —recurrent in several periods of her work—, to end up proposing a sort of insular political theology in which the voice of the victims of sacrificial history is restored.
