Exile took María Zambrano to various countries in Europe and Latin America. In Puerto Rico she spent long periods between 1940 and 1945, and in the early sixties she wrote forty-five articles for the magazine Semana, in several of which she expressed her interest in the issues, characters and history of Spanish America, and demonstrated that her style was radically permeated by a poetic spirit, which was manifested through the use of expressive techniques directly imported from poetry. The stylistic analysis of these techniques is the main subject of this article.
