In this collection of letters a theological reflection stands out in which Maria Zambrano reflects upon some of the problems she has always been interested in: Christianity and Mysticism, with special emphasis on the divine processions including that of the Holy Spirit, the Incarnation of Christ, the Virgin Mary, the liturgy and the reception of the Second Vatican Council, among other personal experiences. In these letters the pursuit of the Holy Spirit as the foundation of knowledge is remarkably noticeable, so that it could be argued that this experience contributes and gives rise to the rejection both of rationalism in her philosophy as well as of materialism in her concept of the human person, which is considered as a spiritual being.
