This article explains why María Zambrano’s reflections on dance are crucial for understanding her proposed method of knowledge. With a special emphasis on her four final books, it identifies and analyzes three key elements in her notion of dance: following and circumambulation, imitation of nature’s movements (including a connection with Isadora Duncan’s ideas), and Nietzsche’s philosophy.
