Revista de cultura contemporània comprises articles in thematic sections typical of a cultural journal, and papers in a monographic dossier typical of an academic journal. Below are the submission guidelines for papers intended for the monographic dossier, followed by those for articles for the sections.

Monographic dossier. Submission guidelines

1. Copyright belongs to the juornal.

2. Papers for the monographic dossier must be between 16,000 and 20,000 characters (with spaces) in length, including footnotes. They can be written in any Romance language and in Engllsh. They are evaluated by two experts external to the journal’s editorial staff by means of a double-blind review (where both the reviewers and the authors of the text remain anonymous). They must be submitted with an ORCID number, affiliation, a five-line resume, an abstract in both Catalan and English (and in the Language of the article if it is different), each of 600 characters (with spaces) in length, and five keywords for each abstract.

3. Papers in the monograph dossier may not contain images.

4. Papers should be formatted in Times New Roman, point size 11, at 1.5 line spacing. They should not contain any highlighted text, corrections to be accepted with the Word change tracking tool, or other pending issues. Texts should only have two levels of headings (chapter and section).

5. In terms of style, the journal follows the criteria of the University of Barcelona manual (www.ub.edu/criteris-cub), except in the case of bibliographic references, where the Harvard model must be followed.

Thematic sections. Submission guidelines

1. Copyright belongs to the juornal.

2. Articles for the thematic sections must be 9,000 characters (with spaces) in length. The register of the text must be that appropriate to a cultural journal (not an academic journal). Only footnotes – with or without bibliographical references – that are considered absolutely essential for the understanding of the content (not for amplification or justification of arguments) will be included.

3. Authors may propose two or three images to illustrate the content. The editorial board will decide whether or not to publish these images in accordance with the criterion of coherence with the design of the specific issue of the journal. In the event that the proposed images are rejected, Edicions de la Universitat de Barcelona will look for alternative images and put them to the editorial board.

If the selected images are under copyright and the journal cannot cite them because they are not annotated, Edicions de la Universitat de Barcelona will manage the publication permissions based on the sources provided by the author(s).

Proposed images must be included in the Word document submitted, in an appropriate location within the text, with the corresponding caption and source. Image files must be submitted in tiff, jpeg or jpg format, at an optimum size (minimum 12 cm wide), and in high resolution (typically 300 dpi; for images with written text, 600-1200 dpi), and with a number corresponding to the layout order (Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, etc.).

4. Articles should be formatted in Times New Roman, point size 11, at 1.5 line spacing. They should not contain any highlighted text, corrections to be accepted with the Word change tracking tool, or other pending issues. Texts should only have two levels of headings (chapter and section).
