Having Been Visited. Intracultural Friendships

Abstract

Friendship between women of different countries cannot be claimed, but they can be hoped for and that is why an attitude of “passivity” is needed. Personally, I received these “visits” sitting down and, for me, they became transformative. It has been these friendships which made me perceive how violent the concept of culture is, one which, as well as being a patriarchal concept, destroys difference and denies women. What can redeem these cultural practices, classic of all anthropology, is the pleasurable experience of friendship, which is experience of the visit of Lady Love.
