Passion of the Holy Virgins Agape, Chionia and Irene, furtively approached under the silence of the night by the governor Dulcitius, longing to be satiated by their embraces; however, shortly before entering, going mad, instead of the virgins he started kissing the pots and pans, until his face and his clothes were smeared with a horrible soot. Then he gave his companion Sisinius the power to punish the virgins; this latter, also mocking miraculous ways, finally ordered that Agape and Chionia be burnt together and Irene was pierced with arrows.
