Abstract

The Spanish Civil War historiography dedicated to air war has still nowadays important gaps. One of these involves the training of the Republican combat pilots in Spain, France and USSR. This article presents some aspects regarding to the training of these pilots thanks to the diary belonging to a pilot cadet of the third promotion of Spaniards trained in the USSR. Apart from this very unique and valuable source about the theme, the author also explains the influence of the Communist Party in the Spanish Republican Air Force
