The rockets were mainly used in the Spanish Civil War to launch propaganda over the enemy and also as signals in the Republican aviation camps and hangars. But it was unknow until nowadays that the Spanish Republic proved, thanks to a private initiative, a rocket in order to get a military missile. This invention was called ’Air Rocket’ and proved in 1937 but never was adopted as an assault weapon. This article analyses the characteristics of this artifact thanks to a file found in the Montserrat Tarradellas i Macià Archive (Monastery of Poblet), in the War Industries Commission of Generalitat de Catalunya section. The authors also argue why this project never was put in practice.
