Abstract
We look forward to issue 13 of EBRO 38 corresponding to the year 2023 with news and changes. The first and most important thing is that our partner, Dr. Pelai Pagès i Blanch, leaves the formal management, as he has begun to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. However, he will continue with us, as emeritus of the University of Barcelona and as a member of the editorial board. It goes without saying that the task of Dr. Labrador in the magazine has been immense, and decisive, since its foundation in 2003. It has been twenty years of incessant work to work on a topic, that of the Spanish Civil War, that is not always sufficiently considered. Besides it is known that Dr. Pagès is one of the greats of contemporary historiography and whose research has been fundamental to understanding the complexity of the history of Catalonia and the Spanish State in the 20th century. Dr. joins the management. Rafael Sospedra-Roca, from the University of Barcelona who has already served as editor of the publication for a long time.
As a novelty, you will notice that, in the presentation of the magazine, content linked to heritage, education and archeology have been gaining more and more prominence. This has been a natural drift, since since 2003 the research group DIDPATRI (Didáctica del Patrimonio) has always had an important anchor in the didactics of heritage and in the archeology of the conflict. On the other hand, archeology on contemporary issues has gained prominence quantitatively and qualitatively. Obviously, the educational variable is also on the rise, since the interest in making known the events of the Civil War has even generated two laws of the Spanish State.
We are now entering a new stage consolidating the opening, more and more, towards the interests of society and facilitating a holistic approach to the conflict of 36-39 that considers perspectives as diverse as those given by history, archeology, education and didactics, heritage, museography... We also widen the chronological range as from now on we will incorporate, more decisively, articles from the conflict's precedents, as well as from the post-war period. These changes are taking place with a dynamic of expanding collaboration with other institutions with interests in research. You will be able to verify that in this issue (as will also happen in the following) we are incorporating articles related to conferences or conferences. On this occasion, prior agreement with EUROM (European Observatory on Memories) we publish some communications presented at the "I International Conference on the Heritage of the Conflict" held on November 10, 11 and 12, 2023 in Figueres. However, it must be specified that the articles have been verified, before their publication, by the review and evaluation processes practiced in the magazine. And nothing more, we hope that this issue responds to the expectations of change and we would appreciate the support that archaeologists, historians, educators, museographers... provide to the magazine.
We hope to continue enjoying your trust.
