The Republican exile of 1939 is one of the most significant migratory phenomena of the 20th century due to its social, political and humanitarian consequences. The experience of this massive exodus forced by Francoist and fascist persecution, as well as its impact on those who suffered it and their descendants, has reached us through various channels and sources. In the early stages, through the testimonies of its protagonists in autobiographical stories, letters, documents and period photographs, and in the literary production created in exile. And in more recent times, through a wide historiographical production, academic essays, and archival works, together with a testimonial bibliography and artistic creations "of the second or third generation" that make up a living memory that transcends the passage of time.
