Abstract

Literary biography and its cinematic counterpart, the biopic, constitute areas of inquiry in thinking through paradigms for the representation of homosexuality. Every time a life is put into narrative terms, there are a series of attending pressures and conventions which have deep theoretical roots. In this article, such pressures are studied as they concern two recent films about the lives of Spanish poets Federico García Lorca (Little Ashes) and Jaime Gil de Biedma (El cónsul de Sodoma).
