Abstract

p class="MsoNormal"From a gender perspective, the story of the two sisters, Procne and Philomela, beyond the episode of infanticide and cannibalism mdash; which is presented as the consequence of their transgressive behaviour mdash; evidences the fact that womenrsquo;s access to education and knowledge is the first step towards the destabilization of societal structures within the patriarchal order, as well as their forceful imposition./p
