About the Journal
Published by the Area of Early Modern, within the History and Archeology Department of the University of Barcelona, the journal Pedralbes was founded in 1981 and is published annually.
After "Estudios de Historia Moderna", founded by Jaume Vicens Vives and active between 1951 and 1959, it is the oldest journal devoted to the Early Modern Age in the Catalan academic world and the second oldest in Spain.
Pedralbes publishes original research about the Early Modern Age (15th-18th centuries), covering all topics, from the local level to aspects of early globalisation. It is aimed at an international readership of specialists in the study of Early Modern History, but also at students of history and those interested in the study of history more generally. The journal accepts manuscripts written in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian, and Portuguese. Its editorial and advisory board include leading national and international academic authors, including specialists in political, cultural, economic, and social history, chosen in order to achieve gender balance.
Pedralbes is indexed in Carhus Plus+, CIRC, DICE, ERIH, Latindex, MIAR and RESH.
