Political representation of the Kingdom of Valencia has been the subject of complex and interesting historiographic debate. Institutional differences with the other two peninsular territories of the Crown of Aragon have caused frequent misunderstandings. This paper enters into this dispute showing that really, in that period, it only existed at some specific moments. Estaments and Diputació went from collaboration to confrontation and vice versa as a matter of course, which is why our interest lies in the general dynamic. To analyse it we have compiled documentation from 1598 to 1707, providing information for more than a century. This information allows us to conclude that the periods of collaboration were much more significant than those of confrontation.
